Course Introduction

This lively and engaging club is designed to help students in year 1 looking ahead to 7+ assessment. With most schools withdrawing the 8+ entry point, 7+ is now the last major intake before 11+ and 13+, and is becoming increasingly competitive.

This weekly session is designed to help students prepare for key aspects of the 7+ which are often overlooked – dictation, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and key topics in maths which will be tested and must be covered – time, money, fractions and geometry.

Course Schedule

Each week will cover a single topic, which will be taught in class and reinforced with homework to aid retention. To help keep the group lively and engaging, students will participate in a lively learning game. They will be rewarded with points which they can use to purchase prizes as the course progresses.

As this group is likely to be well-attended, please do sign up early.

“Melissa has been amazing with our daughter, helping her gain more confidence over time in areas that she finds hard.  Also, despite focusing on those tougher areas, her weekly time with Melissa is looked forward to and very much enjoyed.”

— Parent of 7-year-old

Our Cancellation Policy

If you cancel less than two weeks ahead of the start date of the course, the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date or another student.

If you cancel outside of the two week course date, we will happily credit your account to attend a future course.

If you do not show up for a course, you are not eligible for a credit or refund.

Why we charge a cancellation fee

This is to cover the tutors’ reserved time to run a group course, to pay for their time spent pre-planning the class and relevant material, printing fees incurred and the loss of revenue to Winterwood as it is often too late to fill a cancelled space.  More importantly, other students miss out on attending a group.
