This short focus group is designed to cover 7+ English and dictation. The group is designed to focus on core questions which will come up on the entrance exams which take place in autumn – for King’s, Westminster and St Paul’s.
Course Schedule
Day I will focus on English comprehension. The group will work on multiple-choice comprehension techniques – used by Westminster and St Paul’s – and non-fiction texts, a common feature of St Paul’s 7+ English.
Day II will focus on dictation and listening. This core question type, used by St Paul’s and King’s, is an essential 7+ skillset. Students will look at capital letters, full stops, spelling, punctuation, and implied grammatical structures.
The group will be led by Dr Tom Parkinson and Laurie Coldwell. Laurie will cover comprehension on Day I, and Tom will cover dictation on Day II.

Dr Tom Parkinson
Tom is Winterwood’s co-founder and overseas the entrance exam cohort. Tom has been running educational groups for the past decade, and has created several bespoke learning games which he uses in his group classes.
