Course Introduction

In recent years, Latymer Upper has been the most academically competitive school in London.  The school is heavily oversubscribed, and only students working at a very high level in both maths and English will proceed to the interview stage.

This short, two-day group will aim to get students to the required level and will use examples of past questions (including the format and structure of last year’s exam) to familiarise students with the level and format of Latymer Upper assessment.

Course Schedule

Day I – students will work on multiple choice literary comprehension in the morning session, and composition – based on last year’s creative writing prompt – in the afternoon.  The day will finish with a short assessment, with full feedback provided to parents.

Day II – students will work through Latymer Upper format maths – multiple choice arithmetic and challenging, multiple stage questions.  Students will work with examples of past question types and will work through recurring question types which come up again and again.

“Winterwood tutors are highly recommended. Their group sessions are perfect for boosting knowledge in the key areas, while kids enjoy the competitive environment. Their tutors are very keen and productive!”

— - Eugen, West London

Our Cancellation Policy

If you cancel less than two weeks ahead of the start date of the course, the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date or another student.

If you cancel outside of the two week course date, we will happily credit your account to attend a future course.

If you do not show up for a course, you are not eligible for a credit or refund.

Why we charge a cancellation fee

This is to cover the tutors’ reserved time to run a group course, to pay for their time spent pre-planning the class and relevant material, printing fees incurred and the loss of revenue to Winterwood as it is often too late to fill a cancelled space.  More importantly, other students miss out on attending a group.
