Jacob Shephard

Education Consultant & Expert Tutor

Jacob is Winterwood’s education and exam consultant, and he tutors English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.  He has been tutoring since 2014 and has thousands of hours of 1:1 tutoring experience.  He specialises in entrance exams for competitive schools at 7/8+ and 11/13+ entry points.  Jacob’s students have received offers from schools including; Eton, St Paul’s, Westminster, Wellington, Latymer, Godolphin & Latymer, Francis Holland, Dulwich College, King’s College Wimbledon, St Mary’s Ascot, and Wycombe Abbey amongst others. Jacob primarily teaches in person in London, but he also teaches online and he has travelled with families on a number of occasions. 

Jacob is involved in our  recruitment process and he trains and advises our tutors. He creates and marks our mock exams and produces detailed feedback for each student who sit the exams.  He regularly provides assessments and reassessments of students as well as advice and recommendations to parents. 

Jacob has taught internationally, facilitating drama and education workshops in Italy, India and Nepal.  In his gap year, he taught English for six months at a school in Uganda where he directed the students in ‘Julius Caesar’, which was the first student play to be performed in at least ten years.

Jacob has a BA English degree from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Acting from Drama Centre London.  His credits as a professional actor include ‘The Crown’ and ‘Father Brown’.
